Wallace Quinn Managing Director John Quinn has completed his ‘Strictly for the Hospice’ dance challenge and smashed his fundraising target in the process.

John has been leaving the office and heading to dance practice in recent months, where he and professional dance partner Sharon Millar have been working on their Quickstep routine.

All of the hard work came to fruition at the weekend over two days when John and Sharon entertained a sell-out crowd with their carefully choreographed routine.  Their quickstep was part of a packed programme of charity challengers and professionals  taking part in the event, all raising funds for St Andrew’s Hospice in Airdrie.

John says,

‘It is daunting at any age to learn a new skill, but at the same time it is good to challenge yourself to learn something new. It was an absolute privilege to get the opportunity to participate and I can’t thank Sharon enough for helping me develop my dancing skills to a point where I had the confidence to even try to perform in front of a large audience.  We didn’t win, but I thoroughly enjoyed the once in a lifetime experience. Most importantly we raised a great deal of money for a hugely worthwhile cause and I am very grateful to  everybody who supported me and took the time to donate.”

John had set himself the challenge of raising £5000 for the hospice.  By the end of February, his fundraising stood at £5330 and the event raised a total in excess of £77,000.   All of us at Wallace Quinn would like to say well done to John, Sharon and everybody who gave their time and rhythm for a great cause.
