How did you end up in this role?

After completing my Diploma in Legal Practice at the University of Edinburgh in May 2023, thus concluding five years of study at the university, I endeavoured to kick-start my career in the legal profession. Wallace Quinn provided me with the opportunity to gain valuable experience as a Legal Administrator in their Livingston office. After three months in this role, I was ecstatic to accept a Traineeship, which commenced in September 2023. I am currently eight months into the two-year training contract, with the aim of qualifying as a Solicitor by September 2025.

What aspects of your job do you find most fulfilling?

In my opinion, the most satisfying aspect of conveyancing is assisting clients through what is often one of the most significant transactions of their lives. The joy and relief our hard work brings to them and their families are immensely rewarding. Hearing their positive feedback and knowing that we have played a pivotal role in their journey is deeply fulfilling.

Could you describe your day at Wallace Quinn?

The majority of my work involves residential conveyancing. My primary role is to guide clients through their transactions by providing sound legal advice, drafting pertinent legal documents, and negotiating with other solicitors to benefit my clients.

Effective communication with clients is paramount as the transaction progresses. Additionally, I have been involved in several commercial transactions, including business purchases and leases, which is an area I intend to further explore as my legal career develops.

What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?

Outside of work, I have always been passionate about sports and physical activity. Growing up, I played various competitive sports, but nowadays, I enjoy playing football socially with friends and attending the gym after work to maintain my fitness and well-being.

What do you appreciate most about working at Wallace Quinn?

Since starting at Wallace Quinn, I have been immensely grateful for the positive and friendly atmosphere within the office. We have a wonderful team here in the Livingston office, where everyone collaborates effectively. This teamwork significantly benefits my individual work and contributes to a productive and enjoyable work environment.
