Evan McKillop

How did you end up in this role?

I studied Law at Glasgow Caledonian University and went on to do my Diploma in Professional Legal Practice at the University of Glasgow. I joined Wallace Quinn working as an admin in the Livingston office during my Diploma. I worked in this role for a few months before being offered my traineeship in the Private Client team in Glasgow where I have been based for the last 2 years.

What aspects of your job do you find most fulfilling?

I find the client interaction aspect the most fulfilling and being able to help them resolve problems that have been causing them or their family member stress. A big part of private client is also providing peace of mind for clients that their affairs are in order. For example with Wills, clients want peace of mind that their estates which they have worked hard for all of their life, goes to exactly who they want it to and achieving this for clients is fulfilling

Could you describe your day at Wallace Quinn?

I often meet with clients in our office to have face to face appointments to discuss various private client matters such as Wills and Powers of Attorney. Client interaction is a big part of my daily tasks and the part which I enjoy the most. Other tasks include drafting of legal documents and generally helping the Private Client team wherever I can.

What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?

Outside of work my main hobbies are going to the football/playing football and golf.

What do you appreciate most about working at Wallace Quinn?

It has been a great place to develop and increase my legal knowledge and skills as a trainee. I have always felt supported throughout my traineeship at Wallace Quinn and everyone is willing to help which I really appreciate. More generally, I get on great with everyone at the firm and enjoy the events Wallace Quinn have held recently such as Top Golf and a day at the Races.
